Ready to plant your tubers now?

Dahlias must be planted after the danger of frost has passed for your area.
Planting Directions:

Plant in well draining soil and either lightly cover the crown of the Dahlia, or leave the crown above ground.

Dahlias prefer full sun which means at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight each day. Plant Dahlia Tubers (or cuttings) in a sunny location for strong, productive plants.
Smaller Dahlias need 12-18inches, Larger Dahlias (Dinnerplate Varieties) need at least 24inches.

Once your Dahlias have stems, water regularly and deeply.

Not ready to plant just yet?

Keep Dahlias in their bag, and mist with water to keep the medium moist. Keep them in an area that doesn’t go below freezing. Dahlias will start to wake up over 65 degrees, which can give you an early start on your season.

Another option is to place the tubers in a a 10” pot with soil, then either transplant, or leave the Dahlias in the pot and move them outside once the danger of frost has passed.
